When To Call a Plumber for Shower Valve Replacement
A shower valve is behind the wall, so problems are easy to ignore until they cause damage.
Signs you need a replacement:
1. Dripping from the shower head after you turn it off.
2. Water that suddenly turns hot or cold.
3. A handle that is stiff, loose or will not shut off.
4. Low pressure that a new shower head does not fix.
5. Stains or soft spots on the wall around the valve.
A licensed plumber can often replace just the cartridge. If the whole valve is worn, we replace it and make sure the connections are leak-free.
