Sump Pump Checkup (5 Minutes)

1. Find the pit and check that nothing is blocking it.
2. Pour a bucket of water in. The pump should switch on, drain it, and shut off.
3. Listen for grinding or loud noises.
4. Check that the discharge pipe is clear outside.
5. Test the battery backup if you have one.
